Winemaker: Pierre Lurton (Château Cheval Blanc), Roberto de la Mota (Terrazas de los Andes)
The lovely, deep, black cherry colour shows theyoung age of this vintage. The nose has great intensity, opening out in the glass, developing very complex hints of cherry jam, dried apricots and mint with slightly floral notes, such as violets together with chocolate and tobacco. The oak aromas are still very much in evidence. On the palate, it is powerful and fat, yet perfectly balanced. The fruit predominates with flavours of black cherry and blackcurrant and then confit notes mingling with flavours of chocolate, spice and almonds. The tannins that come through in the finish bring wonderful elegance to this great wine which displays a remarkable freshness of fruit.
